Our marathon destinations for 2012

DENMARK
With its Tivoli Gardens, the Little Mermaid statue, and world-renowned architecture and design, Copenhagen is a delightful city for a marathon. The Nykredit Copenhagen Marathon takes us around canals, parks and green spaces. Our tour includes a day trip to Malmo, Sweden, for more Scandanavian flavor.

ICELAND
The Reykjavik Marathon is run in one of the most breathtaking countries in the world. Iceland is home to volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls and elves. Our trip takes us to Reykjavik and the surrounding countryside in August, when the sun doesn’t set until 10 pm. The Reykjavik Marathon also offers a half-marathon and a 10k. After a day of races, the city celebrates Culture Night , the country’s biggest event and party.

SCOTLAND
The land of kings, the birthplace of poets and dreamers, and the home of the haggis, Scotland will charm and enchant you. For 2012 we’re offering two trips to this romantic and historical country. The Edinburgh marathon in May runs past the Castle, through villages along the North Sea, and around Gosford Park.  In late September, join us as we travel up through the Scottish Highlands to Inverness and the Loch Ness Marathon. The marathon takes you along the shores of the fabled Loch Ness, where Nessie the monster is said to live. There is also a 10k and a 5k offered.

IRELAND
It’s a lot more than just leprechauns and Guinness - Ireland is a fascinating and friendly country. The Dublin Adidas Marathon is held on the last Monday in October, when the weather is perfect for running. Our trip will include 2 days in Belfast, Ireland, and everywhere we go we’ll experience the uniquely Irish good times - ”the craic.”
