Loch Ness Marathon, Scotland (plus Edinburgh!)
Hidden away in the Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness is the lake home of the namesake monster. You may even see Nessie as you run the marathon along the banks of the loch. If you choose to run the 10K or 5K, your course will take you along the River Ness and you’ll finish in the sports centre with the marathoners.
In addition to the small, friendly marathon, we’ll have a chance to explore Inverness and Urquhart Castle. We’ll peer from a boat deck into the depths of Loch Ness in search of Nessie. After the marathon, you might just find that the traditional fare of haggis, neeps and tatties (turnips and potatoes) is the perfect recovery meal! We’ll have another full day and night to explore Edinburgh before heading back home.

AND BACK THIS YEAR!
Edinburgh will take your breath away – and that’s before you’ve started running the marathon! The marathon course has been changed to make it more runner-friendly, and it’s also the fastest marathon in the United Kingdom. Runners from all over the world come to this ancient and historic city for this popular marathon weekend, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet people. And if you’re not up for a full 26.2, you can choose a 5k or 10k on Saturday, or a half-marathon or relay team marathon on Sunday.
And after a hard 26.2, we’ll reward ourselves with some of the best fish and chips you’ve ever tasted, washed down with a pint of cask-conditioned ale. There’s more to Scotland than the capital city, though, so we’ll take a day to tour the countryside, see how single-malt scotch is made, and call on Nessie to see if she’ll come out and play.
